This notice covers the website penumbreal.com and email sent to [email protected]. Each of our products has its own privacy policy, listed at the end of this page.
Who we are
Penumbreal is a one-person software business (a sole proprietorship, eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands under KvK number 42159345 (VAT identification number, btw-id, NL005545981B19), at De Nieuwe Erven 3, Unit 15248, 5431 NV Cuijk, The Netherlands. Penumbreal is the controller for the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
Visiting this website
This website sets no cookies, has no analytics or tracking, has no forms and loads nothing from third parties. Its text, images and code are all served from penumbreal.com.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you requested. We do not use this data to identify you, and we do not keep our own visitor logs. Cloudflare also adds a small script, served from our own domain, that hides our email address from spam bots.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
Emailing us
If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if you give it) and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to handle your request. Our email is hosted by Google Workspace.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask for before a contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). We keep messages as long as needed to deal with them. Messages that belong to our business records, for example about a purchase or an invoice, are kept for the seven years that Dutch law requires.
Who else receives data
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and protects this website.
- Google (Google Workspace) hosts our email.
Both act as our processors. They may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, ask us to restrict its use, object to its use, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to [email protected]; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
